NEW iPhone Sleeve – "On the Go" Wool Version

Actually, this is my first iphone sleeve that is somewhat more “Masculine” than I have made. I had to keep in mind  that this next one could be for guys too.. So what better way to do this by NOT using CUTESY patterns but using fabric that men wear…

WOOL.

Yup, men wear wool. Especially the professional types. Those pants that you guys wear to more professional settings like a business conference, yup, those pants are made out of wool. Wool is expensive btw! Well the good kind, at least.

And the one I bought for this project was E-E-EXPENSIVE–$60/yard.

so here it goes, helloyellow for you pros.

Just clean and simple.
I also added a place where you can insert your keychain on the side.
(please see end of post for keychain pix)
and is also stuffed for extra cushion and support.

4:49 AM
ahahahahah

inside is lined with yellow.
WELL HEY, it has to have some helloyellow feel to it.

of course a place to put your headphones, money, etc.

aww you guys see a cute cute couple?

Aww ear buds in love <3
Yeah… aww

happiness.
Anyways, sorry got distracted. needed SOMETHING CUTE.

The contrast between the two iphone sleeves thus made.
Not so Cutesy vs. Cutesy

CONSTRUCTION…

These are some upcoming designs for my future iphone sleeves.
I’m trying to perfect it and still stay true to helloyellow design.

Three layers of fabric.
Wool = outer fabric
Interfacing fabric
Yellow Cotton = lining

hemmed at top

Cut cut cut

I made multiple because I kept on messing up with measurements.
And now I have three iphone sleeves however ONE fits way better than the rest.
Perhaps the others can be used for different phone types.
It is nice to accessorize in style.
yeah… apparently i’m a rock-a-holic LOL

So here is the keychain feature for the phone. Just in case you are on the go.
The phone is unlikely to fall out since the phone is very fitted and more than snug in this sleeve.

For those On the GO GO GO GO
**note**
These are just trial designs for my upcoming etsy site. I am trying to test which sleeves, bags, etc. will come out great and making sure I’m perfecting them before trying to sell these items to the public. So if you have any feedback or suggestions, I do appreciate it :)

HelloYellow LEGO iPHONE SLEEVE

I got back from work today at 10:00 pm. The hours of a researcher are endless. And after hours of work, all I wanted to do was sew. I am so tired though so I tried to think of something that would be very quick.

And so what do I need now? Well, I just got an iphone like two days ago and so helloyellow presents… HelloYellow iPHONE sleeve. Something that is portable and can protect my iphone.

Here it is for all the people still young at heart and have loved legos ever since they were a small person:

hello yellow iPHONE sleeve, LEGO VERSION
I got this fabric from the LA Fashion District and boy, even in the fashion district this pattern was just so expensive. I believe it is imported from Japan. I thought it was really cute and I knew I could do something with it.

There is a sleeve within the sleeve to place headphones or money or tampons.
jk… NOT

Inside there is turquoise lining… i know one of my very good friends would like this just because she is obsessed with that color.

so will it fit?

yes indeed it will. In fact, it fits perfectly.
Very snug.
Just in case anyone was wondering if this is a safe sleeve, I stuffed it before sewing and the extra cushion seems to make a big difference in the feeling of whether it’s safer or not.

And there with the headphones… perfect for travel.
The top opening is very convenient so you can easily plug in your headphones and listen to music while it’s still within the sleeve.

It is very convenient to charge your iphone or ipod while it is still in the sleeve.

TADA
Okay so now here are some CONSTRUCTION PIX

The Turquoise lining being cut

The lego fabric cut and being pressed onto the interfacing fabric to make the fabric more durable.

Cut lego pieces
haha..

Hemming the fabric

Stuffing the lining and outer fabric for extra cushion

All the layers I had to sew together to create this contraption.
All the construction photos are taken through my iphone. tehehe
There ya go everyone. I think I should start making tutorials. I will when I have more time and definitely pass this cryo-EM modeling workshop. I’m about to collapse again from such a long day. But atleast I got the sleeve done! YAY

KATO

Kato is the newest Helloyellow.
He is an explorer.
I took a vacation this past week all round the major cities in Texas but I spent sometime in South Texas right beside the border of Mexico. To commemorate my trip, I made KATO…which is actually a “japanese” sushi place in the valley.

Kato likes to eat Edinburg rolls.

He also likes

-rodeos

-egg and potato platos
-free chips and salsa
-mexicans

-snails & turkey

I also like to hang on things~

HelLo

My name is HelLo.

I’m Jenelyn’s very first creation to her helloyellow series.

I tried to make my first one more universal. Not too cutesy..hence the checkered pattern.
His name is HelLo. He is completely handmade. He is small enough to be a keychain or phone bling. I made him a partner. He is currently phone bling though.
